A. About AMAZI WATER

Amazi Water is the primary, in-country partner for clean water projects in Burundi. In collaboration with others, we are developing a national water strategy with the goal of providing sustainable access to clean water in every community by the end of 2028.

Amazi Water has a mission: 20litres of Water per person per day within a 20-minute walk from home for 100% of Burundi Communities.

B. INVITATION TO TENDER FOR THE SUPPLY OF PUMP TESTS

AMAZI WATER is launching an Invitation to Tender for the supply of PUMP TESTS. Participation is open to any legal entity with sufficient legal, technical, insurance and financial capacity.


Tenders must be made out in Burundian francs and include all taxes. These bids, written in English, in closed envelopes, marked « Tender for the supply of Pump Tests » and accompanied by minimum 2 reports of prior pump tests performed, should be submitted by November 24th 12:00pm by email to tender@amaziwater.org.

C. Tender Requirements

Vendor:

  1. Vendor will provide the Amazi Water (AW) with test pumping services with its qualified personnel in the field. Personnel with knowledge of hydrogeology. Must submit at minimum 2 reports of prior pump tests performed.
  2. Vendor will perform pumping test according to AW standards aligned to ISO 14686
  3. Vendor undertakes to collect all the pumping data, make an interpretation of this data, and share all this data as well as its interpretation.
  4. 40 boreholes requiring pump tests are in:

  1. Prior to commencing the work, the vendor will follow AW teams for 3 pump tests and then will be required to demonstrated aligned proficiency at 2 locations.
  2. All pump tests must be completed by February 15th, 2023
  3. All reports must be submitted within 7 days of pump test
  4. Schedule must be submitted with plan adjustments communicated on Mondays 10 days prior.
  5. Payment schedule will be as follows:
    i. 20% of total paid prior to commencing the first 20 PTs for mobilization
    ii. 15% of total paid after each 10 reports (60% total)
    iii. 20% of total paid for second 20 after 20 reports are submitted

AMAZI WATER:

  1. Amazi Water will allocate a point of contact to monitor and guide vendor, including undertaking spot checks, field visits, assurance of consistent approach and provision of training.
  2. Amazi Water requires vendor to take four relevant photographs during the pumping test that will be uploaded on a smart phone application called Q-field. Amazi Water will provide the phone and training on how to use the Q-field application.
  3. Amazi Water holds the right to audit vendor at any point during the pumping test.
  4. AW affirms that all sites are accessible and if not, an alternative site will be provided within 5 days.
  5. Amazi Water undertakes to provide vendor with the geology and technical section of the drilling report as well as other related documents which will help with the pumping test.
  6. If a borehole is found to that have been completely developed with an NTU > 10. AW will provide an alternative site within 10 days.
  7. If Amazi Water decides to terminate the contract with, advance notice of a month will be given before the date of cancellation and a 20% premium on completed reports
  8. If Vendor decides to terminate the contract with Amazi Water before completing all the pumping tests allocated a 20% decrease will be removed from the final payment of completed tests with accurate reports.
